I need to take apart a battery for my Drill. Actually 2 of them. The screws holding the two halves together look like Allen head screws with a spike in the center. They are tiny screws and I need to buy a tool to take it apart. What are these screws called? And where do I find a tiny driver that small?

They are called security or tamper proof hex. If the company really didn't want someone opening it, they wouldn't have used screws. They just don't want every joe-blow with a Phillips screwdriver to do it.

Easy to find the right tip at any real hardware store.

By 'Real', I mean anywhere besides Home Depot or Lowe's

There's tamper proof hex and tamper proof torx. They both have a pin in the center. Look at Apex, Bondhus, and Zephyr for the tools.

Thanks! And I know, they did want just anyone removing them. If Milwaukee didn't make such crappy tools and batteries, then I wouldn't need to take it apart! I'm hoping I can find enough good cells in the two bad batteries to make one good one. If not, then I'll just toss the crappy drill in the trash. I have more money in batteries than I do the drill now. It would be nice if a battery would last more than one year.

I spent a LOT of money on this drill. It was over $250 new and I have not been happy with it at all. My father, who uses his drill dang near every day, has never had a bad battery or any problems with his over the last 5 years. His is a $29 HF drill. Go figure.

If you use a small pin punch and a small hammer strike the center pin it will break off than you will be able to use a regular driver to remove the screw.
I have done it many times in the past the center pin breaks quite easy when struck from the side.
