I've got a 1/4" drive dial torque wrench that's been needing a case for awhile. So I ring up the folks in Conyers and ask them what a case would cost me.

The woman says, "Oh we can just send you one. What's your address?"
Sahweet! :bounce:

I explained to her that it was a 1/4 dial type, but that it fits in the same box as the 3/8 drive 6177. Click, clack, done. "On the way!"

So then a package shows up, and it's gigantic. Wrong case. What was supposed to be for the 1/4" drive dial type was actually for a 3/4" drive clicker style that went up to 600 ft lbs. It was 3+ feet long.

Monday rolled around and I called them to describe the mix up. The woman transferred me to shipping, and the guy that I spoke to was really helpful and was very much set on getting things right and apologized for the error.

When I asked if he wanted to send a UPS label for the big case for me to ship it back he said, "Shoot, I don't want that thing. Keep it." Now, of course, I have no immediate use for the case, but I'm sure I'll find a way to employ it.

And finally today, I had the proper case waiting on the doorstep.

Yeah, Proto messed up somehow with shipping, but their customer service people were interested in helping and me out and making sure I had what I needed.

How nice of them. I could use a case for my 1/2" tq wrench but I'm fine without it.

Yep, same exact design as my other Protos, including the 6177. Same exact dial, case, bezel, etc etc.

@toolhorder, yeah I wish! I can think of several other things that I'd need to spend 700 dollars on :lol_hitti
