I have a 5" x 7" (measured size) rectangular post in my garage.

I've done some rudimentary googling and haven't found anything that will work or look well as a post protector. I routinely bump it with my boots or rolling seat, etc. I'd like to put something like diamond plate, plastic, etc. on the post as a protector so I don't have to keep cleaning/touch up painting the post.

I've seen similar items protecting the posts in the big box stores, but no one knows where they come from. I may as well be asking them to derive Maxwell equations...:lol_hitti

Oddly enough, in all the pics in my garage remodel thread (new pictures added today), I have no pic of the post. :dunno:

Thanks for the help!

I'd just put some diamond plate on each side. Depending on the wall color maybe you want to try and find it "molded" in a certain color

I guess I could go to a sheet metal fabricator's shop and order it up in 2 pieces (90 degree angle) so it'd be a cleaner looking install. Stainless would be too pricey, right? It'd match the workbench top better though...

I'd find a local fab shop and get your aluminum DP from them. Take them the measurements and they should be able to shear it and bend it a 90° for you. When you buy it from big box stores like HD, you are way over paying.

When I bought mine for a workbench backsplash, I bought an entire sheet and they sheared it 12"x8'. I paid $100 for it.
