I want to put some runs of pex and some drain pipe underground for a future bathroom before I pour my floor. I'll be stomping on the subgrade with a
10K vibratory roller so is there any precautions for not damaging the pipes? I guess the pex could just go inside a piece of pipe insulation or even a conduit but what about the big pvc?

We used a vibrating compactor for the base. Added about 6" of chips, and used a walk-behind plate compactor on that.

Then the plumber & electrician came in, and trenched in all of their tubing by hand. (I felt sorry for them!)

After they had that all set, we got the walk-behind again, and went over the whole thing again.

I'm with nissan crawler, and think you would want a solid base for the tubing.

I'm lost. Why are you putting the pipes down before you pack?

Hmm, I guess I don't have to but I thought that way every thing would be compacted evenly. As opposed to trenching through the compacted base
then repacking the trench, which would bring me back to wondering if the compactor will damage the pipe. To clarify I'm talking about the large drain pipe for a bathroom which needs to exit the building down at 18-24" I believe.
