FYI all, I used a foundation coating cement with stucco steel corners on mine. Came out ok. Not bullet proof, but not bad and patchable. Here's a few pics of how it came out.

Any tips regarding using this product?

Thanks,
Jay

depends on the air temperature and what temperature you are heating the building to. Soil stays at 40-50+ below frost depth year round.

I have a split level house with the lower level half in the ground. Downstairs wants to stay about 55 heated or not downstairs in the winter.

my garage well insulated tends to stay in the high 20s- low 30s even when is is below zero out without insulated doors.

yeah, same, live in northern maine in a split level, downstairs is 3 feet in the ground with presumably no underslab insulation. It wants to stay about 70 in the summer and 55 in the winter.

If building a new shop I intended to not heat much, I would insulate only the perimeter and expect it to stay in the 40s or more with no heat.

I am real questionable on wall vapor barriers here too. Yes heating season warmth is inside, but generally heating season humiditys are well under 20 percent indoors.

I was thinking of putting the insulation on the inside of the foundation walls because of concerns with how to cover the insulation and thought that critters would like to burrow in to keep warm. Would still require some protective layer on the inside but could just use OSB there. For the outside the Menards panels look reasonable.

Or how about roof panels with a fiberglass layer (not sure how thick it is):

Or FRP panels:

Comes in colors other than white but cost is double or more.
