If one of our pros could offer a clarification I'd appreciate it - specific q: what is required for protection of a feeder where it runs inside a building. It'd be an attic run from one side of the house to the other.

I have cleared all the other code issues for the detached shop feed as far as wire size, etc but I'm not confident I have the info on the part where the feeder will be inside the building. I originally thought it could be run "open air" but now I'm not so sure.

I do know now that 2008 cleared up that old SER/USE in a wet location/buried conduit business. The threads on that are epic.

Was looking at SER 2/2/2/4 AL - > J-box on back of house -> 2/2/2/4 URD in conduit to building. That should be good to 75A which is plenty.
