Snagged a pair at a pawnshop for $10 over the weekend. Never seen them before, and I can tell why...they are about as clumsy to use as they are to look at. Still had to have them for my collection.

I've got the P&C version and I agree. They aren't the greatest design in plier history.
I don't like that the jaws taper outward in the two larger size settings. Not good for getting a good bite on something.

Just like the post of the two guys trying to get the nut off easier by the string method idea/concept back in the day this was an attempt to make a better pliers. Sure not the best design but a baby step as they say and today we have evolved to a very nice design of the knipex pliers. you got to start somewhere and this was just one idea of many to come.

Agreed Woody 73. Between the Knipex and the Snap On HL138CP, are the two best compound leverage pliers.
The old Eiffel Plierwrench ain't too shabby, especially considering the era it came from.
