Got a used Proto 6012 3/8(20-100 ft pound)torque wrench that has an expired last calibrated date in 2014. This wrench does not have the C on the end of the model number such as 6012C. It just has 6012 stamped into the handle. This wrench was probably made before Proto starting using C,CX, and CXCERT on the end of the model numbers, and that's just my best guess.

My question about this wrench is whether or not the ratchet repair kit J6006RK would still work for my 6012 without the C designation? That repair kit number is listed for the 6012C.

Has anybody used the Proto service center for calibration? No prices listed on their website, so I guess I will have to call to get an estimate.

yes i have used Proto, Angle Repair and Team Torque all three are good. If you send it to Proto they will fix the ratchet head while there.

If you can remember, were the Proto service center prices comparable with Angle Repair and Team Torque? Just asking because I would rather send it in to Proto just as long as I don't have to pay a new wrench price just to have a used one calibrated.

Team Torque is the most pricey and Proto and Angle Repair are about the same

Thanks for the information. I will give Proto a call in the morning, and get this wrench sent their way. Hopefully, it turns out to be a good one.
