I got a set of the Tektons for my nephew at Christmas he has not had any problems with them. I messed around with them for a little bit they seem fine. I've been wanting to try the indexing locking pliers.

still waiting to hear some feedback from anyone who has used the Tekton version of this type of tool.

7-inch $7 bucks shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/323417389480

10-inch $11 bucks shipped: https://www.ebay.com/itm/323941493045

The ones that you linked via ebay are the old style Tektons.

The current ones are Taiwan made and have a hole in the adjustment screw. I have a couple pairs that I got just to try out, and I'm happy with them. Visit Tekton.com for current models and part numbers.

So..... good? No good? Any experience using those models?

The Petersen-Dewitt originals are going for stupid money now. Was hoping to find a viable alternative.

Junk! Teeth wear out quickly. I had several pair replaced from snap on. Chucked them in the scrap pile. Garbage in my opinion

Interesting ! I never grabbed anything super hard with them......certainly not harder than the teeth which RC about 55 or so(I've punched some).I'm just a welder and need fast and smooth operation.I could see maybe twisting a punch in a punch press might roll those teeth ? Dunno. Another try on another day :)

The deal is back on Amazon. I'm not sure why these are half the price of the smaller, long nose version. But I'm very happy with the fit an finish on mine.

These Spanish Protos weigh at least 50% more than the cheap chinese versions I had already. Might have to buy another set to keep the car just in case.

Can you post a link? The OP link shows $28
