As I study the various web site...I see Proto and Proto "Blackhawk". It is difficult to dtermine what the logic/purpose of the two Proto lines is?? On top of that they have 3-4-5 Proto lines...all at the same distributor.

Where does the Blackhawk line fit in with the Proto brand???

Thanks...Tom R

I think blackhawk was it's own brand long ago, and then Proto/stanley bought it
I think blackhawk toolboxes are made overseas

I would guess .... and it's only a guess .... that Proto is U.S. made and that Proto "Black Hawk" is foriegn made ... kinda like Snap on / Blue Point

Blackhawk used to be it's own brand (made in USA), but now appears to be mostly manufactured overseas. Like ba614 said, it is kind of like the Snap-on/Blue Point arrangement.

Yup, Blackhawk is now one of those "used to be good in the day" tool companies so routine today, so sad!
