I decided to put my old Proto boards back to work. These were hanging in an old shed where I had my small workshop when I was young. Since I moved out from home in 2002, they had just been hanging in there. I should have brought my camera when I went in to get them. One had part of an old bird nest on top of it, and one had dozens of dead stink bugs clustered behind it. Yum.

I thought they deserved a bit more dignity than that, so I cleaned them up and took them over to my shop. I'm going to hit some flea markets and sales to see if I can find more tools to fill them out. The wrench board takes the old short wrenches, before the Professional series came out. The SAE wrenches I have include some old Los Angeles-made goodies. The metrics include a lot of Proto sockets I bought new. The wrench board is older with the cool logo, and the two metric boards are from the 70s-80s (Ingersoll era).

Once I fill these, I think I'll look for more boards. I like them.

Thanks, guys. I agree, the old dancing/naked/ballerina girl Proto logo ROCKS! I also like the old block letter script much better than the modern, rounded letters used now, which are just blah. Proto still makes a good wrench to this day, but the newer ones are just friggin' ugly if you ask me.

I wish they would get back to basics with the Proto logo on the tools. New wrenches that look more like the old "MFD USA" ones, or the early Professionals with the chevrons on them. Those are sweet, I have a small set of them from 5/16 to 7/8, minus the 13/16 which is older.

Thanx. I'll get a list together and send it to you in a PM. I know I need all of the ignition wrenches, some of the tappet wrenches and a good many older combo wrenches (1/4 to 11/16) to fill out the first board. These would be 50s-60s, maybe into the early 70s- the shorter ones. The metric wrenches have quite a few blanks, too. I'll check them out and get you a list of what I need.
