So, I know that there are flexible drivers. I thought that was pretty neat.
While browsing through the Matco catalog, and on Amazon, I found 1/4" and 3/8" flexible socket extensions. One branded Proto, the other Matco. First, is there any difference (is the Matco a rebranded Proto, or Armstrong)? I have not been able to determine. There seem to be minor differences in finish. So, I have seen Armstrong, Proto, and Matco with these.

Secondly, does anyone own one or more? Are they as handy as I imagine them to be? Can they take torque, or is this a break it loose first situation, and then use flex extension to make removal easier? Never used one before, but think it might make a good addition to the work cart.

I doubt the Matco is really Proto considering Danaher and Stanley/BD are competitors. If there is a version by Armstrong, that's probably what they are. I know my Armstrong locking extensions are identical to Matco... not even extra sizes in the Matco line like there are with impact swivels and such. Then again, the Proto and Armstrong look pretty similar on Amazon, so who knows. Maybe the same 3rd party makes them all.

The ones I've used in the past weren't up to much of any torque. But there are times you can break something free with a wrench but running it in or out would be a PITA.
