Perusing CL, found an ad for a "15 pc Proto Metric wrench set, 7-32mm."

The set skipped a lot of sizes, and I just figured seller had lost them or something.

Turns out, it is an actual Proto wrench set. J1200P-MASD.

Includes: 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30, 32.

:headscrat:confused: am I missing something here? Why make a set that is basically 7-32 with even sizes only (except 7 and 29)?

On European farm equipment made from the 90's to present I have only needed 7, 9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 27, 30

13 sizes vs. 15 but different combination. Maybe some Asian equipment or machine tools that is used here in North America.

That makes no sense to me either; whatever system you're working in (JIS, SAE, DIN, etc.), it skips important sizes.

It's a mystery.

Needs 13, 15, 17 and 21,, might be able to do 21 with 7/8,, cant remember but those other sizes is why I would want the set.

22mm is close to 7/8":

13/16" = 0.8125"
21 mm = 0.8268" (+0.0143" = +1.76%)

22mm = 0.8661"
7/ 8 in = 0.8750" (+0.0089" = +1.02%)
