I have been looking at these for awhile but the prices are close to snap on and availablety is not very common

They look super nice one of the best chrome handles looking at 1/4 and 3/8 flex head but prices are about the same as Mac and snap on 1/4 from zoro is 125 which is a bit steep compared to other truck brands

It seems I am not alone on these as well and how I really like them I am just curious on the high prices are geared for industrial market and keep prices close to Mac for end users

Worth every penny. I don't think I'll buy another 1/2 drive ratchet as this one is a perfect fit for me. Okay I'll probably buy more ratchets, but they won't get used like this one does. Perfect for my applications and feels perfect in my hand.

Worth every penny.

I disagree. I think PROTO is artificially keeping the prices high on these ratchets. I can get MAC versions cheaper off of the truck than I can order PROTO versions online. :wtf: You would think that it would be the other way around since, trucks offer use while you payoff financing, and truck to you service. I have managed to hit a couple of sales and acquire a couple of PROTO Precision 90 3/8 drive ratchets. I think the PROTOs have the nicer all metal handle with the two bands of knurling. Most of the industrial suppilers I deal with don't stock these ratchets and they're drop shipped directly from PROTO. I'm ok with that but, I feel pricing on the Precison 90 series should be closer to what PROTO charges for their premium pear head ratchets again, that's just me though. :dunno:

I like mine. I have a regular 3/8" and a long 1/2" flex head. Best to wait until Zoro is having a sale before buying one. Next time Zoro has a 25% off sale I'll probably get a regular 1/4". I agree with fedwrench that the retail price is too high.

Yeah they're definitely keeping the price higher than it needs to be, but I still thinks it's worth every penny I paid even if I can get a cheaper Mac version. I prefer it over the Mac version so I'm willing to pay more than the Mac version. I prefer it over a snap on and so I'm willing to pay more than for a snap on. I prefer it more than a proto pear head so you get the idea. You are probably right in that they should be offering it for less and I guess I really can't say it's worth every penny for everyone else. I have no regrets though. I only have a 3/8 flex that I got for 50% off list and the longest 1/2 flex that you can get that I got for the standard 40% off list that the dealer sells me proto for. I didn't pay near Zoro prices for it. I want to say I got it for just under $200 and Zoro has it listed for $240. I bought mine first week they were available so I dunno.

Here at work we can only purchase from certain places because we have accounts with them, it irks me sometimes. One time we needed bosch batteries, paid $160 each for 4ah at local supplier. Company bought a hammer drill, impact driver, 2 batteries and charger for over $500. Small guys care about prices, big boys don't
