Proto professional 5249

I can't get a good pic at the moment, but I was cleaning a couple of ratchets... Both are labeled as above only one has a trademark circle "R" following the Proto. When was that added?

They filed for their registered trademark status on May 21, 1951 and were granted on April 22, 1952. Has to be soon after that date.

In previous discussions their "Professional" series tools came in at least the late 50's or more likely early 60's.

It is generally accepted that tools from '50-'57 are marked Proto Los Angeles. I don't think I've ever seen a Proto LA tool with a ©.
Just food for thought.
