I have a J 5249 ratchet, that needs a rebuilt.

Paul there said that stanley sent the parts.. Free, including the shipping.
So any one have a link to get them free...

Just call the number on the website tell them whats happening and your set.

just call this number.... 1-800-800-tool.... I have gotten 3 kits from them so far, all free.. just give them the complete part number on the ratchet... tell them it skips or what ever.... they have very good customer service as long as you aree good to them also

I called, they said, the ratchet rebuilt is sold by Grainer.
Does Grainer sell to the public?

There was somebody else on here that was told by Proto to go to Grainger and purchase a rebuild kit. I told them to call Proto back and get a different customer service agent.

i would do the same and would have told them that you should not have to buy a rebuild for a guaranteed tool

it has been a woman i talked to each of the times i ordered kits... still have not had difficulty... perhaps I was lucky....

I would try again monday morning... other option would be to look up through their locator to see if there are any local reps... if there is, they will get you the kit.....closest rep to me is about an hour away...
