Well, I broke my golden rule not buying a complete set, but they were free. I don’t say that to be boastful, but rather to glean some info. I was intrigued by their size- old farmer used them on his very old implements. So, any thoughts on how close this is to a set?

Pretty ! Plenty of sets skipped right over that 1 3/16, so if they ARE from a set, it was a pretty thorough one.

You are missing more than you have. My set is from 3/8" thru 1/1/4" and I think they went up to 1-1/2" The good news? Those sockets can usually be had pretty cheap. Pm ssdave, he has/had a large selection of Proto.

They go to a large, but very useful set. Most people have no idea what level of quality they really are so you can pick them up cheap. I will look see if I have spares to trade (at least marked Professional)

Thanks fellas. This old timer also gave me some old miscellaneous snap on. Again, his snap on sockets were big, with lots of stampings. I’m not a SO guy so maybe we can do some horse tradin’

I have a bunch of newer Proto catalogs that have yet to be scanned. Will get you some shots of boxes/set contents from the correct 70's/80's/90's time period.

Love that style of Proto sockets, haven’t been able to build a full set of them yet. Good score!
