I would just like to say thank you to GJ for being a good resource to learn about tools. Until today, it was the only reason I had heard of proto or seen any of their tools.

I like to keep an eye on the tool section of my local cl page on the hunt for deals. The other day I saw an ad up for a complete set of proto asd metric and standard wrenches. $160 for both sets.

A few of them have signs of some use, and a couple of the sae ones have a name engraved on them, but all in all they are in very solid shape. Apparently the original owner had them on for more but couldn't get any bites. Seems that no one wants to buy a set of dull looking wrenches from some company they have never heard of. Well, almost no one[emoji6] .

Dan: That's a great haul! Particularly since you got both sets w/ the larger size wrenches.

[emoji106] I came home from work and asked my wife if I could get them the night I found them online. When I told her I wanted to buy something, she was worried that I wanted a new car. She was pretty relieved when she found out she could buy me off with a set of wrenches.

Great strategy, they are so relieved it not a 40k item, they don't mind at all

A good set of wrenches was one item I really needed for my home set. They are replacing a set of hf metric wrenches that I bought to do some suspension work. They did the job, luckily I didn't need a 13 though. Generally I only buy tools for home when I need a specific item, or if I come across a deal too good to pass up.
