I posted this in the Plomb Thread by mistake.....

For years and years I went without hose clamp pliers.
Can't explain it....

After recently dealing with a couple of stubborn hose clamps, I went out and bought myself a nice one.
So, I've come to realize that I cannot be without hose clamp pliers
Now, I have five
I found this one at a Garage Sale

Have some more somewhere. Bought a Proto flare nut 5/8- 3/4 AF to use on Diesel injector pipe nuts, 40 some years ago. Perfect fit and solid.
No arguing from the pipe nuts, cried Uncle every time.
Sold the thing when I hung the tools up.

I picked this the other day and can't find it in the catalogs.

1/2 drive, deep, 5/8(ish) service opening.

Marked:
R-2795 Proto (first line)
Made in USA (second line)

Thoughts?

Best regards,
John

Well, today was a good day! Now to get everything cleaned up. The box on the right is actually pretty clean. I passed on it about 4 years ago and regretted it every time I saw it. So when I had the chance to buy it I couldn’t say no again. Once I get everything cleaned up I’ll post them. Box on the right does have its hasp intact which is not easy to find with these 9990’s

This box is cool as heck! BmwRD0 gave it to me when we did some swapping. I’m over the moon about it! It’s a Proto la box but it has a plomb sticker on it so it’s not too long after the lawsuit I believe? It contained 7/8 hex impact sockets. I have acquired a few yellow Proto boxes over the past few years but this is the first for me with a plomb logo/sticker . It’s already inside my house in a display cabinet 👍IMG_7137.jpegIMG_7135.jpegIMG_7136.jpegIMG_7138.jpeg

Looks very similar to a Kent-Moore spark plug socket made by Bonney for military use, maybe aircraft.

I did get the other items I got in my 9990’s all laid out. There was the ubiquitous cotter pins and sandpaper but I don’t think you guys want to see that 😉😂. Proto items from the LA era all the way to professional. Bunch of good stuff in here like a nice awl and the drivers and I actually needed some of these pliers! And you know I’m stoked on the utility knife

I had been putting some of the more interesting Proto stuff in a box for you, along with some duplicates. I never had a chance to clean out that box though...

Uh huh… I’m starting to notice a trend here 😂. But seriously there was some pretty cool stuff in there.
Sweet box cutter!
Thanks. Believe it or not I don’t have one of those so I’m pretty stoked on it! Going into the user drawer for sure

Found this 8" PROTO slip joint pliers, also marked "US". Can anyone confirm the date (thinking 1950's) and any details on the military use?

Anyone know when this was made? I’m not familiar with it.
