Proto XL ratchets

Does anyone else use the proto XL series premium ratchets?

Ive got 3 and as of Friday all 3 of them are broke in the same way.
I've got a 5249, 5250 and a 5450 the selector pawl has broken on all 3. It has been so for the 3/8 for a couple years now (they're just setting in the drawer now). I though the 1/2 drive was maybe robust enough for this not to be a problem but I guess I was wrong! Has anyone else had this issue?

I know they have a lifetime warranty I just haven't been able to get them sent in.

A co-worker went through 3 of the 3/8 ratchets also, same break as yours. Finally ended up with a 5249.

I had a regular old 5450 for long time with never any problems. Its really a shame I REALLY like the 5450xl but if its going to break like that I think I might try something else. Maybe a Wright 4425 of the SK version of the same thing.

I had a 5250XL break on me, the selector broke up inside the head. Warrantied and the new one is fine, although I'm not hard on it. I also have a 5450XLBL I've had longer than the 3/8 model, it's been a workhorse, no issues.

I have the 5250xl that I use professionally without incident. I do appreciate the heads up on a potential problem.
