I put my new DeWalt cordless jigsaw into service. Of course I tested on scrap first, and I found the cuts weren't 90° with the saw on the preset detent, and they weren't consistently off; some cuts were farther off than others.

Poking around at it, I discovered the issue. The metal foot skid sits recessed in the base and is fastened by these four Torx screws:

The skid plate had been installed a tiny bit off kilter, just enough so that the leading edge on one side was caught on the edge of its recess and wasn't properly seated. It was riding high, and so the saw was rocking. This was concealed by the plastic foot cover until I removed it and saw the issue.

All I had to do was loosen the screws and align the skid plate properly, leveling out the foot, and everything is now fine. Just documenting it in case anyone else has this issue.
