They don't fit nuts/bolts well... the only thing a wrench is for.

Not a lot of contact area, loose as a goose and soft.

Our tool room manager bought these for our field service tool boxes (here in the US), mainly because our company is German owned. So we follow what they use in Germany, to work on our machines out in the field here. Completely normal. However, we all dumped these wrenches for regular wrenches. None of us found the Wera Jokers any good. It's a huge gimmick. Would not recommend.

yes, I concur. THEY ****! Over engineered and way over priced ****! I love Wera's bits and drivers, but their joker wrenches and odd ratchet just look bulky and useless.

The intent of the joker is not an open end wrench replacement, it's more an adjustable wrench replacement. In that context, they make more sense...but Knipex Pliers Wrench > any other multi-fit wrench ever.

I've got one basic Joker combination wrench in 10mm. It's good for tight spaces, but like open end ratcheting wrenches you don't want to put a lot of torque on them. The 10mm works ok but I never saw a reason to buy any more.

I've had a few of them from when they were new which was quite a while ago now. The very occasional time they've been of any use was when I had such ****** access to something (likely a hyd. fitting hence the need for an open end) that I was struggling to turn it even between flipping regular, stubby and 30/60s. So just the jaws being straight on basically. I think one time the 12pt nature of the open end helped me out.

Could have worked around these in a different way fairly easy and probably just wanted to get them out of my box so I felt marginally less stupid for buying them. I also don't care for non-reversible, non off set ratcheting box ends. Overall gimmicky and a solution in need of a problem to solve. Build quality seems good to me though.

I'm just here to kick the dead horse.:deadhorse

The open ends are completely useless in the smaller sizes and mostly useless in the larger ones. The ratcheting ends, almost universally, have way too much backdrag.
Also, the gimmicky little "hardened" metal inserts get trashed quickly and I've never seen anywhere where you can actually buy replacements.
I'm just glad i got most of my money back when i sold them to some other poor sap.

However, I LOVE wera's stainless laser tip screwdrivers and hex-plus wrenches.

Funny thing is that I found myself wishing for a 12-pt open end recently. I forgot what for..... I think I'd painted myself into a corner with a special tool I confabulated. I'd consider getting a set of the bare-bones (no ratchet or doodad on the open-end) Wera wrenches.... but they're not priced well for a curiosity.... and I need another set of 12-pt combo wrenches like I need a hole in my head.....

I was interested when i saw them in a youtube video. Figured wera usually is good quality so ordered some. Used them once an didn’t care figured ile get use to them. Tried them a few more times than traded them to a co worker who wanted them. poor fitting a not very ergonomic to me. He still likes them but ime not sure why.

I bought some when they were newly introduced. Thankfully only in 10/13/17/19 as I was working on DIN stuff at the time and they came in a set like that. Never really used them, they just roll around with my other spare wrenches in the service truck. SEEMED kinda useful.
