I took my daughter to Vegas for a volleyball invitational a number of years ago. First for both of us.
We were amused flying in that there were no lawns, go figure. Listening to some of the locals talking about real estate and their homes, they would ask questions like "What color rock did you put in?" We did see a variation in stone color for yards.
To each their own I guess.

Got the bench back from the powder coater. He used a textured rust finish, keeping with the neighborhood theme on these. I re-installed the Trex seating boards with 1/4" stainless carriage bolts. All the Trex is leftover from our big deck project at the cabin, I cut everything down to 16", bundled in stacks of 10 and hauled them back down the mountain in anticipation of doing a few benches this winter.
Waiting on the engraved plaque that mounts on the stretcher to get it installed. It's at a trophy shop in Tempe, should be done this week. IMG_20241216_164439084_HDR.jpgIMG_20241216_164406734_HDR.jpg

Got the bench installed behind the owners house, on HOA common area just off the street. Had a few leftover pavers, so I created a little path up to it.

Still needs a bit of landscaping, but that is her forte' so I will leave that up to her.

She's due back here a few days as after Christmas, so this will be a nice Christmas surprise. Her dad passed right before Christmas, (a month before his dream home was completed) so this is always a tough time of year.

Hoping to get back on it in a week or so, new carb jets are here waiting for me to start trying to eliminate the exhaust backfire. I am thinking it's tied to the PAIR valve. (CA emissions) So I may have to see if I can work around that.
Been really busy with welding projects (more to come) and ended up spending all day today running 120' of 3/4" conduit across my flat roof, over a parapet wall and 16' down to the main panel so we could install a couple of big infrared patio heaters, (with help from a friend who is a licensed electrician)
Out of town company starts arriving on Friday; we're hosting a big party here next Monday with BBQ, live music.
Then back on the '32....
