The subs made good progress today.
First coat of stuccco on the exterior, the entire interior got a 95/5 Santa Fe finish, that is scheduled for sanding tomorrow. Hoping we will see the finish coat of stucco and interior paint next week
Both crews were on time, covered everything, did excellent work and cleaned up after themseves. Very impressed with this drywall and stucco contractor. (Same company)

I took a multi-stop road trip around town this afternoon buying the interior doors at Lowes. I'm actually using prehung steel exterior doors so I can rodent-proof the enclosed spaces. Home Depot had no inventory and their website really *****. F that. Had to go to three different Lowes (Apache Junction, Mesa, and Gilbert) to get the five doors in the different configurations I needed, but at least they had them all in stock locally.

No luck anywhere on green 3-tab roofing for the Texaco facade, bu thanks to a suggestion from @alwaysFlOoReD I was able to find the green color I wanted in ridge and hip shingles up in Show Low. I can use them to replicate the old 3-tab look I want; it will take a bit more nailing, though. 7 Now that sourcing these is off my list I can move on to getting the interior finished out.

Drywall was supposed to be finished today. Interior paint is next, going with some yet undetermined but undoubtedly boring shade of satin white to help bounce the light around.

Spent the day building jamb extensions for my doors. Used my 20 year old Kreg pocket hole jig. I put this set together for a cabinet project in our first house, haven' t used it in years. I have five doors to install, Got three of them put in today. This is on the new Texaco wall, it's getting T-111 Smartside and trim tomorrow. One of the remaining doors is going to be a sliding barn door, so only one more set of jamb extensions to make, for the door between the shop and the office

These went on fairly quick with the Kreg jig, especially if you drill the holes on the right side of the board....

Siding, soffit, and eave trim all went up on the Texaco facade today; the General Contractor's crew was out of here by 2:00. After they left I installed the last remaining door and got started on the finger jointed pine door moldings.
Have to get it all finished it up by Sunday, the painter is scheduled to start on Monday.

Spent the day installing the rest of the window and door molding.
I used pre-primed finger jointed pine, figured it might hold up better in a working garage than MDF.
First batch of trim boards I picked up at Lowes came from Thailand, second batch from Chile. ??
Going for that old-school gas station look on the Texaco facade, elected for ****-joints instead of mitered corners.
Did create a little window stool molding for the little shed windows out of the last 2x6 drop that was still hanging around.

Don't have a vintage industrial 480V 3-phase six head molder with variable speed power feed like @jar944 so I used my table saw, a 1/4" roundover bit in my trim router, and a random orbit sander to create this profile.

While I was working on the trim, the stucco crew got the finish coat on the exterior. Went with Dryvit synthetic with the color already in the stucco. We won't have to paint, it's a really close match to the rest of the house.

Caulking and clean up tomorrow morning before heading across town to a Super Bowl party with friends, on the off chance that the painter actually shows up on Monday as promised...
Scaffolding should come down Monday as well.
Now if I can just get a installation date out of the garage door supplier...

Scaffold crew was in and out by 8:30 this AM. The exterior is really starting to look finished.
Interior ready for paint.
Th area behind the Texaco facade wall is going to be my weld shop. Thinking about diamond plate or corrugated metal for the wall behind the belt grinder and weld table...Should be able to start electrical trim out later this week, we will be done with the General Contractor after that.
I'm doing the tile floors in the office and bathroom myself, going to see what I can find in stock locally.


Still have to finish up the plumbing and move the exposed HVAC diamond plate ductwork from the old garage over to this one. We're also going to add a second mini split for the office.

Really pleased with my GC on this project; we broke ground on November 4.

Color match is very close to our existing house. The crew actually carried the new synthetic stucco onto the existing walls to the closest adjacent inside corners to minimize the (minor)color transition. Saved me the cost of exterior paint.

I bought exterior doors that were double drilled for handlesets and deadbolts, so you never know...

There is a bunch of it at Pancho Villa's Scrapyard up in Snowflake, in long lengths. Half buried in a pile of scrap on the north side of the yard, it's been there a while. American Metals in Mesa has it show up in the drop racks occasionally, usually in 5-6' lengths. I need to get some more...

Painters finished up yesterday, the drywall contractor sent out a guy to powerwash the slab and stemwalls this morning.
Electrician scheduled for tomorrow AM.
