After reading all the posts on this forum and other reviews, I ordered my 24K system today. I'll take some photos of the install and do a review afterwards. Thanks to all for the info.

Good luck. Did a 12k myself. I put the head unit on a computer chair so as I fed the uncoiled lineset through the wall it rolled towards me. Three years later and I have to clean it as it got clogged. Been great so far. Super cold. Dry mode will be great in a garage.

Well I was going to take pictures but it went so smoothly I was done before I got the camera. Arrived in perfect condition, packaging was the best I've seen. It took more time to put in a separate circuit for the unit than it did to hang the head unit. Installed in a steel building but no changes were required to the procedures. Poured a concrete pad for it a couple days before. The only issue I had installing was the drain tube fitting on the bottom of the unit (if you have a heat pump unit). It installed easily but after install the unit would not sit flat. Had to modify the drain tube fitting a bit to make it level. Operational tests went well, heat was hot, AC was cold. Remote range is a little weak but I intend on setting up the phone remote and see if that will be better. Overnight test - outside temp 35 degrees. Set the unit to come on at 4:00 am at 65 degrees. At 8:00 am entered the shop and was happy to see the shop was at 65 degrees. The compressor did go into DF mode (defrost) and when I checked the compressor it was frosted over pretty good. After a few minutes, the fins were clear and the heat was still on. Overall satisfaction 9 of 10.
did your frost look like this? I took this pic one morning (overnight 30s)
it was still running and did not go into defrost that day.
but I have seen DF before another morning, I did not get to look at the frosted that had build up, only found a bunch of water on the ground.

Yes, just like that. It was 35 deg but after DF ran just fine even though there was still some on the fins.

It's been 3 months now and I thought I would update costs. It was going to be very cold for a few days in early Feb so I turned the temp to 62 degrees, the lowest it will go for heat. Temp got to 62 and held for three days. Used it for about 4 days more that month. Electric for the month was about $25 more than normal and my unit's efficiency is not that great.
What I have found though is a better way to use my unit for my building. Yesterday it was 28 degrees and going to be cold until about 2:00 pm. At 7:30 am I entered the building with my jacket on, temp inside was 38 degrees. I turned the unit on at 62 degrees and within 30 minutes had to take my jacket off. After another 20 minutes I turned the unit off and worked the rest of the day in the shop. My shop is insulated, 1,500 sq ft with 12 foot walls and 16' peak. Can't wait for summer to see if the same system will work with the A/C.
