Pulled Trigger on Overpriced Cart

I was hoping to find a good used Extreme Green Snap-on Cart cheap but the only one on Ebay was in Iowa for 500 not including crating and shipping. SO i just bought a new one yesterday. Yeah I know its overpriced (lists for 815, got it for $700) but hell, so is the rest of my Snap-on stuff. I really enjoy my work more when I have a cool box and good tools, and a green cart will just make me even happier! The thing that I had to have was the color:

To match my bike (yes it has lime green rubber!):

I only wish I got Extreme Green for my 1023/1012/1203 setup.

I hope mine come in in the next two weeks. It's been on order for three weeks now. By the way, it is exactly the same as yours, a KRSC31 in extreme green.

Mine does the match the 1023 roller though.....

Raced a full season last year. This year being the last year of school I have no time, and my poor bike is just sitting on stands. Hopfully next year I can get back out there and have some fun. It will probably be on a R6 though.

I know the feeling. Mine has been sitting on stands under it's cover for a year now. Poor thing.

If you are in and out of it a lot, then I think it is money well spent. As an amateur I enjoy my upper end tools, even though some of them could be lesser tools and still suit my needs.

If it makes you feel good to use the nice boxes (I know it does for me) then I think you made a great choice. Plus you supported a few people I know in Kenosha!

"remanufactured"... so far so good. With their remanufacturing process, they claim tires are better than new tires. They stick good and had em up to 170.

I know the CEO of a tire company that did a lot of testing on colored tires. He told me they concluded that there was no way to make a tire in a color that performed as well as black, especially in the rain. It has to do with the chemistry of adding carbon black to the rubber mix. My limited tests on colored tires were scary, the wet was terrifying. I'd put colored tires on a low-hp scooter just for fun, but I don't think I'd ride a liter sportsbike with colored tires, especially at the track. Just my 0.02.

FYI: Tomahawk has discontinued the colored tires due to their strict quality control that required more colored tires be discarded than approved for sale. The black remanufactured Tomahawks are still in production. The colored tires that passed approval are good for what they were designed for, a z-rated tire with visual impact. I never claimed that they were a track tire.

I talked to my Snap-on guy yesterday and the good news is, my cart is here!!! The other good news is that my youngest graduated from HS yesterday.....

The bad news is that I couldn't see him because I was at her graduation. Even worse, he is on vacation now and won't be back until late next week. Double bad..., on the days that I can meet him, I will be out of town the next two weeks.....

So, either we meet on an oddball schedule late at night or I get my cart in three weeks.

I can't wait....

Congrats on the grad! I hope your schedule works out one way or the other. No review on the cart yet as it will be drop-shipped to my work next week. I will post up with pics when it arrives. Can't wait as I'm using a Ranger service cart (one of those flimsy little trays on wheels) to hold my tools in use.

As a like-minded Torrancian, I am able to grant you special dispensation for over-spending on your S-O cart. I have a lower model of a S-O cart myself, for which I also overpaid...thus my special powers to grant you this dispensation. It's a joy to use. If you enjoy it enough, it will be worth the extra money.

As I drive around Torrance I will be watching for a guy with a big green grin, and know it's you.

Thank god they held together. You throw a tread at 170MPH and life would get real interesting real fast.

Congrats on the cart. You don't see a lot of green boxes or carts, its good to be different.

Just to show you how much out the bike world I am, especially the crotch rockets, I didn't even know they made colored tires. I do have an 04 Victory Kingpin, but we will keep black for the tires.

From what I understand once you buy a cart, Snap-on sells a special fertilizer that when sprinkled on the cart and moistened with WD-40, they start growing and turn into a larger box...

It is always good to be different!!

Here is the colour of ours, a textured blue.

I wonder if we can get touch up paint for it if we ever needed!

I raced green back 10-15 years ago, when I was racing on dirt. I switched to Yamaha when I started riding street/track days. Looks like there is lots of love for Kawasaki in here. Thats cool. I guess I can be the loner Yamaha guy. Those tires do get points for being unique. But performance is not one of their strong points. Be careful on them.
