So, I have the KD 2897 kit (Actually Napa branded), and it has worked fine for as many pulleys as I've had to deal with up until a couple weeks ago when I had a ('14?) Dodge mini van give me fits trying to remove the p/s pulley. A new pulley ended up being acquired, long story short.

The factory tool is a Miller 9962, per the information I found out later. The 9962 is a "full moon" vs the 2897 being "half moon" regarding the way the tool fits the pulley groove.

I'm debating on getting the factory tool as I run into FCA vehicles often enough, or if something like the Lisle 39000 or OTC 4530 would do just as well. Or any other suggestions?

Last power steering pulley I removed was on my son’s 98 Jeep. None of my pullers would fit in the space available. I ended up getting a loaner pulley puller kit from Advance Auto. While I usually buy tools that I need to do a job, it’s pretty clear that I will likely not be in that situation again anytime soon.
