Getting the conduit out of my house panel things are a bit tight. Running 1.5" PVC with 1/0-1/0-2-4. Used 24" sweeps on each end and an LB going into the rim joist. Need a couple changes of direction to get into the breaker panel and LBs are too long. Any issue with using pulling elbows? bend will probably be shorter than recommended for wire but not much worse than LB.

Our shop has ran a lot of feeders, I can't remember a single instance where we needed to use a pulling elbow to make it work.

Post a pic of what you are trying to do and we can see if there is an alternative method.

Is the LB going into rim joist bringing the wire into a crawlspace? Can you switch to SER cable via a junction box and not use conduit for the run to the breaker panel?

Panel is in the basement with the meter right above it fed by conduit. I am adding a run up, through the rim joist, and back down into the ground. The issue is on the inside getting from the rim joist to the panel.

I need two right angle bends fairly close together. It's above the panel with some other conduits in the way. AHJ says it needs to be 2' from gas line nearby too. I took another look and can cut a little drywall and run the long end of the LB the other way, down toward the panel, where there is room. Just need an LB with the outlet on the side so I can secure the cover. And flip the other one. A little hard to get at the cover screws but doable.

I work hard to reduce fittings, I should have moved the panel the owner had placed just a little and could remove an LB. Same for elevation in some cases. I am going to get a couple diamond holesaws for block mostly so panels in basements can come and go straight thru the wall for virgin installs. I put a Z in the last one and after I did it with too bigger wire than I ordered said **** and should have cut a hole in the block.

I like to see an LB enter if its out of the way a little, same for leaving. Lets a guy be aware of the locations. You can do it one piece of pipe and one LB with direct burial, sometimes add a sweep or partial or even piece of pipe. 2 fittings and 1 stick of pipe. If it wasn't a real sensitive place go up the outer wall and thru the back of the panel.

I have done that type of job. I had to loosen some staples, turn the main off and relove the locknut on the adapter to LB, KO the box and put in an adapter after I cut hole in the wall. It can be done, not easy in poured walls but done it in wood and in block.

An SLB is shorter than a standard LB, and longer than a pull elbow. It's easier to use than a pull elbow with more volume
shopping

Will it fit?

Don't use the pull elbow unless you hate your life and want to be as miserable as possible. There is an easier way using normal bends, you just aren't seeing it.

There isn't room for regular bends - due to the radius they just won't fit.

I have figured out how to fit things in with LBs. I do need to get a LL though and the big box stores don't seem to stock them in 1.5" size, only smaller sizes.

What's the problem with pull elbows? I figured out how to avoid them in this case and can see that in most situations they can be avoided. Just wanting to learn a little about this. Doesn't seem that much different than an LB although now that I think about it with large wire getting the second run pushed in would be tighter with some serious bends. Is that the main difficulty?

I am thinking the LL may give some of the same issues for the side conduit connection? Both conduits on that one are very short and I don't have much wire to feed - about 5' - so those things reduce the pain some.
