Is everyone mounting their compressor to the floor with cushioned vibration pads or leaving it mounted to a small pallet or homemade wood base?

Can I get your suggestions?

Thanks,

Jack

The pallet on my compressor was very large so I just bolted 2 2x6x18" treated boards. It does offer some cushion but I'm moving next year and I plan to anchor it in the cement and placing some vibration pads under the legs.

I used the highly popular hockey puck idea. I bolted them to the bottom of the compressor footings only, not into the cement floor. I recessed the bolt heads through the bottom of the puck and up through the footing and capped off on top with the washer and nut. By mounting the pucks to the compressor only, I'm still able to lean and "walk" it around a little when needed for cleaning or service. There's no chance of mine falling over because mine's in a ventilated closet, but for those with concerns, it could easily be tethered to the wall.

I did mine just like BBC71Nova based on his thread (thanks!!!), except I used some less expensive mounts I found at McMaster Carr.

Also my wood base is 3/4" ply on top of 2x4's, 'cause that's what I had handy.

I also cut a 12" diameter hole in the center of the ply to improve access to the drain. I've now put a tray in the hole to catch fluids.

At my son's shop their compressor is not bolted down and sits on a thick rubber horse trailer mat from Tractor Supply

This is a picture of my installation. The notch in the bottom to the right is there in case I decide to run a hose out of the drain. I doubt I'll do this at this point as the cut-out in the base is working fine.
