Hey Everyone, check out my PUMA Air Compressor with Aftercooler.

The Aftercooler is a B&M 70266 oil cooler with 1/2 NPT connections $100.00 from Summit Racing. The cooler lowers the temp from 220 at top inlet and drops it to 90 at bottom outlet. Then the Air is moved through 1/2 inch flex hose to a 1/2" HF 68279 40 micron water separator $14.99, then to 1/2" Water Filter trap 5 micron F704 $28.95. The traps remove 5 tablespoons of water from the cooled air before it ever enters the receiver (60 gal tank), during a fill cycle. As you can see the soda bottle attached to the HF 68279 as it has an auto drain when the pump cycles off, and dumps the water all down my tank, NOW it auto dumps into a plastic 20oz soda bottle. The other water filter F704 has screw valve and I attached a plastic tube to outer knurled nut, so when valve is opened, it goes straight into yellow pail.

I also have manual and automatic tank drains. (HF 68244) which works quite well, and puffs out another teaspoon of water each cycle.

Even though my PUMA single stage pump is very quite, I lined the top section area around motor and pump with HF 94635 (Anti-Fatigue Foam Mat $9.99) just to take the edge off.

I replaced the original Copper finned tubing that went from pump to receiver (tank) with a 1/2" 24 inch piece from ACE Hardware $3.20. Had to use internal and external bending springs to keep tubing from collapsing.

The compressor is not on PADS or SECURED to floor. I cut the original shipping pallet up and what was left under each foot (3) is what it sits on. Has not walked anywhere, and very little vibration to garage floor.

How do you like your Puma? There's a 6560 on craigslist I've been watching. The story is compressors direct shipped him the wrong compressor and he has to pay freight to return so he kept it. He's asking $800 for it. I've never seen any Puma in person. Not a popular brand here in California.

The Puma pump came with gas flair fittings for exit from pump to inlet of tank and I did flair on new copper tube to oil cooler and used flair to 1/2" NPT on oil cooler inlet. on oulet of oil cooler I used a 1/2" Hose Barb x 1/2" Male Brass Pipe Adapter from SUPPLYHOUSE.com to waterheater hose to additional hose barbs on the water seperators.

Hi AG I really like my Puma PK-6060V, it is very quiet, and I have had it 2 years now and never a problem. I added the aftercooler, because here in central Florida, the air is mostly water and I was having a ton of water out my air tools, even with other water traps. After adding aftercooler, the secondary water traps and desiccant filter, never see water, and media blaster never clogs.

I bought mine NEW at Northern Tool on sale for $499 and additional $20 off coupon Jan 2014, so total with tax $508.79

That being said, this was my 2nd compressor buy, 1st was oilless 30gal LOUD compressor 6 years ago and I did rebuild it and gave to son in law, yes I do like him, but I "needed" Better Compressor for media blasting and this one is so much QUIETER.

Hi 52wrench, I saw this youtube
and he had done the same setup, so I just followed his information, it is amazing the amount of water I recover before it ever gets into my receiver (tank). And I do use the Automatic Tank Drain HF #68244 with additional manual ball valve to get additional water out of tank.
