i have a quincy compressor with a horizontal tank. the tank is leaking on the bottom of the tank where the feet are welded on. i picked up a speedaire vertical tank, but it is to tall for my garage space with the quincy pump.
i want to mount my pump and motor separate from the new tank.
has anyone done this? i was thinking of keeping the pump on the floor and putting the compressor in the attic above the pump. any suggestions?:headscrat

we have several set ups that are exactly like that. the pump and motor skid is mounted separately from the tank. i would use rubber insulators to isolate the skid and run it.

what did you use to plumb the pump to the tank?
where did you put the pressure switch for the motor?

I considered putting my tank outside but with the occasional paint work I do I Decided against it. I'm having the same problem with my tank rusting out though and wanna plumb it to a larger tank.

Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead, but a search pulled up this thread-

I've got the same situation as the original poster- older, good 2 stage compressor head & motor that was originally mounted on a horizontal 80-gal tank, which was kind of suspect. I have a good 60 gal upright tank that I'd like to use with the head & motor which is sitting on the floor on a dolly next to the tank- assuming that this is practical, what kind of fittings can/should I use to plumb the compressor output to the tank? Are there high-temp quick-disconnect fittings that I can use for this? Thanks!
