I finally got around to organizing all the punches and chisels accumulated over the years... this is the snap on kit for KRL

Well , that's just way too organized. I think I have all of those punches and chisels and about 30 more that I bought in the past 25 years. I do like the SO ones the best. I have most of my punches and chisels in one drawer now.

Looks good, what are the dividers you are using. it looks like the rails can be moved around.

That set up looks great. Now I'll need more space.

Gotta convince the wife that I need a new box, then we'll need a bigger garage. If she wants a new house with the garage, I'll have to get her one

And I thought I was doing well just getting them into one drawer, but what's with the two chisels in the brass section:shocking:

Haha . Those are craftsman, and they didn't belong next to the snap on

No actually ....there wasn't room in the chisel slot for em.... They're actually great chisels I picked up back in the 70's....used them to cut the rivets off the front suspension on an 81 bronco back in the day... Never been sharpened....but I need to dress the **** ends😏

Nice but a bit too wasteful for me. I'd pile them all up in 2-3 of those sections and fill the rest of space with other things. Still have about 5 empty narrow drawers in my KRL7023 but then I prefer to have fewer full draws to having tools scattered across entire toolbox! Lol

Do you use the punch holder? Of course I've considered buying one, mostly because I don't have one, but they're expensive. Does it work well and hold the punch securely? I used vice grips a few times and it left some nice deep marks.

Isn't there a cheap Punch & Chisel Holder from Craftsman--COO USA?

Also, not to go off topic here, but where can we buy the cheapest Brass Punches?

Desk drawer organizers and silverware trays are excellent for this too

Too deep, these let you utilize the shallow drawers, and keep the deeper drawers for larger items.
To the OP:I like this set up.I have my chisels in a deeper drawer of my KRL,I think I will purchase this set up so that I can switch to a smaller(shallow) drawer.

GTO...thx
Couple of things I found:
Lay out your drawer first and then figure the cross pieces
The pieces are easily trimmed with a hacksaw
They sell an extras kit with dividers and clips
I am planning on doing a couple more shallow drawers like this, and a wide drawer for ratchets and extensions

I use it when I'm using the 2 pound sledge ... not for roll pins and such

I really like how that's organized! Those dividers look nice. I had my chisels and punches on magnetic bars in a drawer but now they're shadowed in foam. The chisels usually shift around on the magnetic bar when the drawer is closed. I think I may do the same setup for my home toolbox.

Does anyone know of any alternate drawer dividers that are the same/similar to the snap ons? (Like what we would find in the tool truck equivalents thread) I have used 2" strips of wood in the past as dividers that are brad nailed together. I do not mind getting the snap on dividers but would rather get an alternate brand then use the surplus money on snap on hard line tools vs organization. Thanks!

Bellair that looks great!

Ernst Manufacturing has a similar rail system to divide drawers. I think they have two different heights as well.

Nice set up. I did the same with Schallar bins. Sure does make it nice to find what you need.

I like the Schaller bins as well. I use them in my shop box to divide things up in drawers. I have a few in my truck box as well. I also have some in a portable Craftsman 3 drawers box for extra supplies like nuts, bolts, etc.

Pretty nice, But way to organized for me! Mine are all tossed in a drawer and I have to dig around when I need one. They consist mostly of snap on and craftsman oddballs along with a beat up pile of oddballs or home made ones.
