The primary question is, do you have a use for a punch press.

If you have the dies or at least are willing to pay to have dies made, and need to make large numbers (thousands) of thin, stampable items, then yeah, go for it.

But they're not like arbor presses or bearing presses- something that size only has a stroke of about 1-1/2"

The price isnt terrible, thats about what they normallly sell for in these parts, but as Doc mentions you need to have a use for them.
