Michael's Arts and Craft stores is selling $50 Lowe's gift cards for $40.

This is a special offer running from 06/03-06/16 and is only available on the $50 gift card denomination.

When you go into the store, you can look for the gift card "kiosk" where you find other gift cards or check the front of the registers where they have special displays for Lowe's/iTunes $50 gift card sale.

Some people were told by employees that they cannot use credit cards for these purchases, which is a load of ****. I had no problems buying them.

Itunes $50 gift cards are also on sale for $40.

Sounds like a great deal! I know there's a Michael's around here somewhere, I'll have to find it and check this out! Thanks!

I wonder why Lowes is issuing those and losing 10 bucks a pop? Are they that hard up for business? Or maybe the store selling them has a deal with them. Thanks for posting this. I might have to have someone buy me some!

EDIT Nevermind I just found a store about 10 miles away. Thanks again for the post.

Gift cards are a money maker for stores for two reasons. One is that they get the cash with no cost up front, like an interest free loan. The other is that probably only 75% of them get spent.

So I'm sure Lowe's has made a deal with this store, but I also imagine that this store may be losing some money to help draw people into their store to spend more.

This is good timing. I was looking at the 80 gal kobalt compressor from lowes. If I buy $850 worth of gift cards coupled with the lowes 10% off coupon I could potentially save $255.

Makes sense. I am going to get 10 cards and go shop for some lumber. Might even get some new tile.

Same as their $10 off $50 coupon. It gets customers in the store which is the hardest part of the retail business. And, as mentioned, there is a high probability that it will never be used either in part or for the full value of the GC.

Good find, OP.

Great deal. Between a 10% sale price, a $25 off $250 coupon, and these 20% gift cards, I paid $232 for a $349 dishwasher.

Lowes is getting their collective butts kicked up here by Menards and Home Depot... Why? Because their prices are higher on much of their limited stock that they do have..

Great deal; none available around here. I called to verify they were in stock and there was no limit before driving 45 minutes one way to pick them up - was going to buy $2000 in cards, and they said they had PLENTY and confirmed no limit on the deal.

When I got there, the manager told me they've been out for "days" and will not be getting any more in.

What a waste of time and money. F* Michaels.

Weird. I thought my local store was out but someone covered the Lowes cards with a Bath and Body card.

The rack was stuffed full of $25 and $100 Lowes cards, no $25's in sight. :( I tried several stores in the area as I buy a lot of stuff from Lowes as well.

Dunno if it's affecting business, but a lot of folks I know are annoyed about having a language other than English plastered all over every sign in the store. Speaking for myself, that is the main reason I shop at HD & TruVal, rather than Lowes. Plenty of all nearby.

Like they say, all politics is local.

I grabbed $400 worth today. Those along with some other ones I've been saving will help with some home improvement projects on the horizon. Probably some tools and maybe an air compressor as well! Lowe's tends to be a little more expensive, but they have some good clearance deals and some higher quality products than Menards sells.

While I was there some guy came in and bought every Itunes card they had. He seriously had to have spent several thousand on them. After fees I can't see you coming out ahead much on Ebay, so I don't know what he was going to do with them all...

I went to 2 different michaels trying to get 10 cards. One had 2 and let me use a charge card ,no problem. The other store had 8 more cards but they would not let you put them on a charge card, only a debit card ,check or cash... They told me they asked the store manager and it was up to each individual store manger. Anyway got there just before closing time and found the cards, Thanks for the notice.

A store by me was out on Monday but got more yesterday. Now they are out again because I bought the last few I found on the shelf. It goes until the 16th, hopefully more will come in.

Sold out at my store last night.

I considered going across the street and grabbing a stack off the rack from Lowes and taking them back to Michaels. "Hey, I found these behind the iTunes gift cards..."

I really wondered if that would work also. My local Michael's was out the second day, or so they said. There was not even a spot on the rack for the $50, just $25 and $100. Someone should try it. :)

Managed to get 44 of the 60 I was hoping to get... Works out this sale happened at same time I planned on putting carpet in the house, stack this with a 10% off coupon and it will be 28% off which ever carpet we decide on and if I wait until it goes on sale we will save even more, so far it's gonna be $800 off lets see if we can get it over 1k off!!

Get a Lowes card and order off the website.

You can stack the 20% you saved on the gift cards, 10% movers coupon, 5% Lowes card discount PLUS get eBates cash back.

Yup, the Lowes credit card. I know for sure the card's 5% stacks with the 10% coupon online + eBates... to make it work with your gift cards though, you would have to purchase most of it with gift cards and only put the remainder on your Lowes card.

OK I just got a $50 gift card for Father's day. I don't shop at Lowes for anything except lumber etc. So what's a good deal there tools wise? I have all the usual (and more) tools like sockets, wrenches, etc. What I'm buying lately is the bigger shop equipment from HF like the shop press, motorcycle bead breaker, engine hoist- that sorta thing. Hmm, maybe I should buy that Bosch PS21 driver I've been considering for the last couple of years. Need ideas to burn the $50 :)

I don't think Lowe's carry Knipex, but it might vary per state.

Does anyone know if you can combine these with those 10% off coupons?
And where to get those coupons?

Pick up coupons at your local post office.

Yep they won't know if you paid $50 for the gift card or $40 for gift card so all discounts and sales apply that normally would if you were using cash money :)

This sale was big enough that I remembered it a year later... Anyone know if this is going on again this year, maybe at another store? Wouldn't mind buying a grand or so just to use through out the year. Last year bought enough to pay for the carpet in my house :)
