Ordered two 12' doors the first of April, they showed up middle of September, staller showed up to install. Four damaged door panels, two missing springs and torsion bars. Finally new replacement panels show up this last Thursday, no bars or springs . Was double assured by management three weeks ago everything was sitting in Seattle waiting for third party shipper to pickup. So as it stands I now have the four new panels and still no hardware. Manufacture will not follow thru with phone contact , box store is a lost cause, I think even worse , a bunch of hand waivers. Out a lot of money and it means nothing to these people. Garage door installer is going to get the parts needed and get me on the road . Clopay doors and toothless HD = monster headache. One of the not joys of this build.

I think what you said was that you ordered garage doors from a move improvement store. I would never recommend using a box store for anything I can't put on a cart and go to the register. I have never seen kitchen cabinets delivered complete and w/o damage. Not once.

If *everyone* started paying when product or service was delivered these things, & people taking deposits & not showing up, would disappear........ :dunno: Might be difficult to find someone, or a product, at first but loss of income will cure that.

Last time I replaced a garage door I shopped around and went to a local garage door installer. He was less money installed than carry out at the big box stores. No hassle either. I went over to their shop, looked at doors, picked one out. They ran over, measured the door opening and installed it the next day. I was gone in the morning and they were in and out while I was gone.

The door was manufactured right here in the same city I live in. Two inch, insulated, nicely finished on the inside, raised panel outside. At the time I paid less than $1,000 for a 8x16. Big box stores were $1300 and up for a similar door.

Granted this was pre-COVID, but you guys really need to give the local garage door guys a chance.

I did go to locale garage door shop, they actually wanted double the $$$. Just couldn't do it. Will say this much, Clopay does makes a nice door, insulated raised panels and stout hardware. Just there upper management is the worse.
