Anyone know an online source for reasonably priced impact sockets that can be purchased individually? I need a few odd size metric sockets.

No China stuff.

USA, Tiawan, or European

I recently purchased approx 19 impact sockets off ebay. They were to fill gaps in multiple sets. I was able to match brands very easily. I spent about $125 to do this, but it worked out perfect. I needed snap on, matco, gearwrench, and a few un branded. It was really easy to plug the size into ebay and sort the results so I only saw what I needed with the cheapest showing first. I was done in about an hour and they all arrived within a week. By using ebay I needed over 9 sellers to accomplish my goal, but was able to pay them all in one click. Only problem is I had to leave 19 feedbacks. One for each socket.

Cripe distribution on ebay had a bunch of Armstrong USA singles.

Have an order coming from Cripes... Included are three USA KD 1/2" drive, 3/4" impact sockets... $2 each.....

$112 tool order, and $12 for shipping = $124 total..... I got a pile of good USA tools for dirt cheap....

Good tools, good price, reasonable shipping...I have ordered from them multiple times,,,,
I sure agree with your suggesting Cripes.

And what's even worse is only one of those for each seller counts! :willy_nil

I bought a bunch of singles in the Craftsman blow out sale going on. All USA made and most were around $1.99. Shipped in one box from one seller. Worked out well.

What sizes are you looking for? Cripes is a good suggestion as mentioned above only downside is sometimes their shipping can get $. All the sears stores I have seen have USA individual impact sockets for sale, but they are super inefficient compared to buying the pack and most of the sizes are common automotive sizes.

Heck if you need common set sizes it might be cheaper to just buy an entire set from HF (Taiwan). :dunno:

Otherwise try searching ebay for industrial brands.

Get the blazing saddles over not made in the US
We are only 300 million people out of 7 billion. If you think for one moment that we only make the best or you are putting an American out of work because you don't buy made in the US you are a dolt. Gray, Stanley, Kobalt, Craftsman are all good ones. They are all made in Taiwan. Harbor Freight ones are not sold individual but are damn good impact sockets. I have been using them for 25 years in construction and never have had none fail. I have every brand of impact socket made. What I don't have I have owned because I auction estates and businesses.

It will cost more to buy a few you need than it will to buy an entire set.
Got to a swap meet. You will find all the odd ones you want for $1.

I have done machinery rebuilding, farm overhauls, rebuilt cars, boats and every kind of construction equipment you can think of and I have never had any brand of impact fail. Not even the cheapest have failed. I have beaten the hell out of the HF and they look new.

If you want to take money our of your retirement plan buy the truck brands.
Go on Flee bay and buy a good used set of any major brand and get a good deal. Cronwell tools are hard for me to sell and you can find great deals on that brand as well as SK. The cheapest tools used are SK.

3 or 4 individuals sockets will cost you more than the ****** set.

Like others on here, I filled the misc missing sizes from my IR sets with Armstrong USA sockets from Cripe, and a couple of oddball Williams Taiwans. All have worked great so far.

That is a good point to bring up about Cripe's shipping charges...
If you order several items,,, request the total from seller... They will combine shipping charges... otherwise if you were to pay immediately, the shipping charge for each item is added up separately.... yikes...

The order that I placed early this week had thirty-some items, and the shipping charges, which were added separately; amounted to around $100.00....After they combined shipping charges, it cost me $12 shipping on the $112 tool order...
Even if you order just one size socket, but multiple quantities, request a combined shipping charge...;)

Can't disagree with your first statement about being a dolt for wanting to buy USA tools. We all have our reasons. If you don't agree, so be it and we part ways.

Hey, it's your money you spend it the way you want, but don't stoop to name calling because others do. It's just weak.

Pawn shops often have huge bins of sockets of all types/sizes. They're a quarter a socket at the shop I like. Takes some grimy digging, but worth it for one-ups.

As said before, Cripes on e-bay has some really good deals. Check out the hot deals section for the craftsman threads. Sears is blowing out the industrial tools at incredible prices. If you do the craftsman, you get free shipping with a sixty dollar purchase. If you get up to seventy five dollars use coupon code SAVE15 to knock off fifteen bucks. Good luck on the search.

I think it is reasonable if someone wants to buy US tools in preference to others. It's a preference issue separate from whether the tools work. There are USA brands that are not as expensive as the ones in the tool truck.
I think brands such as Gray Genius and Sunex work just fine. If I find that something came from China however I would probably get rid of it and get one from somewhere else.
Remembering the digging bar that bent like rubber.

There are two grades of impact sockets, chrome vandium and chrome moly. You want the chrome moly, they are made out of softer steel taking the abuse on an impact.Chrome vandium steel is harder and more brittle.Genius uses chrome vandium steel.

You know, I was a little bit concerned after reading your last few posts. They were actually relatively civil, brief, and seemed to be written by a rational individual. For a second there, I thought that my favorite source of GJ entertainment had come to an end. Thankfully the rambling, insulting, braggadocious, buffoonery continues......
