I am ready to purchase this from Sears. I want to make sure that I am making the right decision. So far 100% of the good tool buying decisions I made were because I posted first to ask for further opinions before going for it.

Please bear with me.

I've always wanted a metric hammer and screwdrivers.:lol_hitti

It sounds to me like you're on the right track though, with sears sockets and different ratchets.

as for the sockets, here's what i'd go with:

10-27mm Impacts, Shallow + deep, plus Hub nut sockets (30, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36mm - All Deep)

I can buy one of the 1/2" GP 10-36mm shallow or deep impact sockets set but not both. Which one do you think is better to acquire.

I'm not so happy doing this bec I already have the IRs in 10-19mm + 21,22,26,27 shallow and deep and will have a redundant set.

Is there a 1/2 socket set with range 28-36 mm? I don't want to buy piece by piece unless it turns out cheaper which I doubt if it will.

I also need a 25" 1/2 breaker bar. Anybody have a suggestion? The HF is only $10 but I'm not sure how it will hold.

_ I also noticed that there are only a few fans of 12 point sockets or maybe they just didnt put out an opinion yet.:)

You don't need Them that often.

i use my 6-point 3/8" sockets and 6-point 1/2" sockets all the time, rarely do i need to use a 12-point. The mosy commonly used 12-point in my box is my deep 30mm bi-hex used for VW-Audi/BMW hub nuts.

Look for a set of hub nut sockets.

Below is a list of those sizes and their uses, this is from memory so there may be a mistake or two.

28mm - Never used mine.
29mm - Chrysler hub nuts.
30mm - Various hub nuts, common size for them. (some 12-point)
31mm - Never used mine.
32mm - Various hub nut, fairly common. (some 12-point)
33mm - Some VW/Audi hub nuts. (all VW-Audi 33mms are 12-point)
34mm - Some (mostly European) hub huts.
35mm - Some (mostly European) hub nuts.
36mm - Various Hub nuts, some VW-Audi/BMW/Porsche etc.
37mm - Not aware this size is even used.
38mm - Some hub nuts, mostly light commercials.
