purging air Hein Werner jack

I have my Hein Werner 2 ton model M floor jack just about reassembled after a big learning curve and a rebuild , Now , how do I bleed the air out once I get it filled with new oil . For that matter , how full do I fill it ? There is a fill plug in the top if the main body . I'm thinking I fill it up to the bottom of the threads . Does it matter what position the jack is in when refilling ? Fully up or fully down ?

I would imagine fully down, and filled almost to the brim. As far as bleeding I will be watching for the answer.

Air rises to the highest spot, so I would pump jack up and then turn cylinder so the outlet for the cylinder is up and then let the jack down to purge the air, repeat and that should be all the air. Check fluid level and refill. That is how I have purged hydraulic cylinders several times.
