Push on wire connectors

I have a 125v/15A receptacle to replace.

The pigtail wire has a big nick in it and I'd like to swap it. This means untwisting it from the 2 other 14g wires to replace.

Trouble is, there's not a lot of length left on the remaining wires. By the time I cut out off twisted wire, strip and re-twist them with a new pigtail, I'm leaving very little wire left.

What's a reasonable fix here?

I was thinking about the push on wire connectors (http://www.idealindustries.ca/products/wire_termination/push-in/in-sure.php)

They do bear CSA and UL listings. Are they suitable for this sort of application? (Breaking a pigtail out of a pass-through)

Thanks

Why do you have to cut the existing twisted wires? Remove the old pigtail from the twist and work the new pigtail into the gap left in the twist. Usually a pair of linesman's pliers can get it done.

Yes your push on connector (wago) is suitable for this. It really is unnecessary though. Just unwise your splice get a new pigtail and resplice the wires.

On my splices, whether it be outlets, etc......I would rather cut it and restart fresh with straight wire before I ~pretwist~ before the but. Then again, it's could be like 4 12"s.

For the OP, I was thinking about the Wago's. Hang tight. Let me grab a pic of mine to show

As mobiledynamics posts, I'd prefer a new twist. Attempting to straighten and re-twist copper seems like a questionable practice.

Are the Wago's certified for Canada and does the CEC permit their use in a splice/pigtail?

Cutting and getting fresh copper is nice, but unfortunately you often don't have that luxury, as in OP's case. There's nothing wrong with re-twisting the copper. Unless the copper ends are really hammered and have been twisted and un-twisted numerous times, you'll be fine.

"Wago" is a company that makes a ton of wire connectors.

I would use specifically the lever locks, not the push in connectors pictured/linked.
