Putting 2 compressor together?

If you have to compressors and want some more CFM for sand blasting, can you tie the output lines together with the pressure set at the same PSI?

Ex: 3hp+2hp set at 90psi?

Yes, but you will have a less than ideal situation. One compressor will do more work than the other as they kick in at different pressures. However,if the PSI ratings are the same, go for it.

It works well for the occasional user. Otherwise I would consider upgrading the compressor. Or getting a big pressure witch that can handle both motors.

Also keep in mind that the regulator must not be between tanks, or it will bleed pressure as it "thinks" it is sensing a line pressure that is too high.

And welcome to GJ!

I run two 5hp compressors when I sandblast. They are set to come on at different pressures so that I am not starting 2 motors at the same time.

I have used this techniqe a couple of times I have a 5 hp 80 gal tank and when two people are sanding or blasting the 5hp would not keep up so I just used a double male hose end and pluged my 1.5 hp comp with a 20 gal tank and it does work.:headscrat
