Putting G-Floor, RaceDeck Tiles etc. on a vertical surface ?

Yes, a vertical surface - but not much. I am thinking of dressing up the concrete foundation that is about 10-14" up from the floor, before the sill plate and sheetrocked walls start.

I am going to install a little ledge that will cover the top of the concrete as it projects out from the wall by a few inches. I was thinking of strapping the vertical concrete surface, then attaching strips of aluminum diamond plate over top, with a small (maybe 1-1.5") gap at the bottom to take care of water run off etc. and when cars are parked in there in the winter.

However, I then got to thinking I could possibly fasten some sheet material (exterior grade plywood ?) to the strapping, then glue or affix racedeck tiles or strips of G-floor type material to that.

Anyone done this before, seen it done, or have any guidelines and/or horror stories ?

I've screwed my Racedeck to my ramps... So onto wood. It's not bad at all if you use a washer or don't go too deep. I would probably do this with diamond plate or sheet metal instead though...

Quick question for Justin though, now that I am at the computer. Have people done stair treads and risers with G Floor ? If so, are there any issues to be be careful of or guidelines/tips that you can pass along? There's a set of wooden stairs in my garage and I have been eyeing those for a "makeover" as well.

People do them all the time with left over material from the floor. It can be a paint and adhesive must be used. If you are just doing stairs, there are companies who make risers and tread that are much better for what you are looking to do. Also, Rust Bullet looks real cool on stairs. You can see it in our RB install video.
