Most of you have seen bits and pieces that I have found for my garage, so last weekend I tore out every thing on one wall and put in most of my finds in one place. Let me know what you think. Thanks Rich.

The Lista looking cabinets would be great, but I like the other one as well with all the small drawers. You've got a lot of storage there.

Each night when I get home I try to go out and do a little bit to organize on the garage. Still filling the drawers with tools. Rich

I like it. I am thinking about doing the same thing in my shop (before it gets too hot).

I made some labels up over the winter for my drawers. I'm doing picture labels (if I can get them all done) so everyone knows what goes where.

I like it!!!! I'd love to have a couple of Lista's or something similar for my garage.

Kevin54,

I troll around CL and various auction sites for my cabinets. I was in Indy last month and saw a nice Lista computer cabinet for $150. I did not have time to snag it as I had a Roubo workbench on the truck already.

But a man could (and I know because I have done it before) buy a Lista computer cabinet and populate it with regular Lista drawers (a combo of new and used) and come out with $1200 worth of cabinet for a about 1/2 of that outlay. It's a Johnny Cash "One Piece at a Time" situation that can take years...

Very cool. Where did you get the wire racks to store the tools vertically in the drawers? That is a great use of space.

there was a post on here about plier storage so I ordered two of the 30 models and cut them to fit the 25 inch drawers. Rich

I saw those racks too and thought "must get". Any more info before I break down and have the search function mock me?

Nice use of the cabinets though I think you'll find tools slide on the metal base of the Vidmar drawers. I used shelf liner until I ran out of the 24" wide stuff. Couldn't find anymore so I bought toolbox drawer liner from Lowe's (more $$$). Still getting things organized.

I'm  over the nuts and bolts boxes you got. Nice.

Yes they slide around, I went to a fabric store and purchased drawer liner for like kitchen cabinets, it came in 60 inch wide rolls and then by the foot, I will line my drawers with it.
As to the plier racks, if you order them, before you cut them to fit your drawer look at them very carefully, one side has wider slots then the other side so if you have a lot of thick pliers you will want to cut the small side off. Rich
I have been thinking of painting the cabinets with the smaller drawers and am thinking tool box red with gloss black drawers? what ya think... Rich

Are those Vidmars? I've got one 8 drawer. Looking for another, a shorty. I'm jealous.

If you put some kind of approximate location in your user details the people on there might be able to help you out.

thanks for the bump and the reminder. i have sort of similar stuff and those big racks so maybe i can get mine organized as well. nice job

any new items to fit in or any changes that you would make to what you have created? it looks like everything is in it's place so just wondering if you are liking it?

here's a picture of one section i started yesterday at my storage unit since my home's lot isn't big enough to build a shop. maybe some day we'll move where there is room or maybe even a nice one already there. also adding my storage shelf unit that has had 2000 pounds on each shelf all at once and a few of these shelves almost have that much on them now. it's not easy to move around, but it's built like a tank.

I thought you used to be a pro golfer not a weight lifter?
And yes to the changes, If you look at the pic (see post 20) that has my press in it, I have narrowed up that row and will be mounting a drawer under the press to hold plates and large sockets used on the press. I have moved the wire rolls over the press. I will be removing the divider and making one long shelf to the left of the press. Then I will have room to put three rows across of the plastic container. I will be putting metal Lawson organizers under my press. I will also be moving the red and black drawer unit over to the left, to make room to put my floor jack in that space. Plus have a lot of ideal for the east wall which I don't have a pic to show you. Rich

I got the snap on kr560 tool box on my birthday trip in Aug. But was not as happy with it as I thought I would be. So I sold it. Well 3 1/2 months later it is back. Long story short, the guy that I sold it to get into a wreck on a atv and will not be never able to use it. So I bought it back from him to help him and his family out.

So I have cleaned out a space on my back wall where the desk was. Now I am trying to organize it. So I have moved my screwdrivers over and I have figured out a layout for my ratchets and extentions. I will either put them in foam or clay.

Thank you Jeff, I am getting there, but it has been a real up hill battle. I cleaned out a couple of smaller rolling boxes and was going to take them down to the barn to store them. But my wife came out to the garage and asked me what I was going to do with the old tool boxes, She wanted them for her crafts room. Rich
Oh yea, I have had my car parked in our garage all week. A first time in years.

Here is the next update 1/24/16--34-6559
Running quickly out of wall space, I moved my fishing poles from the wall to the ceiling and put up a peg board over my tool box that has my chop saws on it.
