Telling your wife you need more space when you have a large garage is treading on shaky ground. I have space I just have not had time to get things put into their respective “spaces.” Labor day weekend was a fine balance between family fun and Sanford Barn focus. Project of the long weekend was to get the clean stuff into a clean area but first had to build the clean area. All that left over construction material was kept in a pile for a reason. What started like this on Thursday evening:

Thanks to all on here who made this take 6 months longer than it had to, cost $ "edit in case wife sees" more than it should have and look 20 times better than if I never found GF!

Yes Cabinets were painted with rustoleum safety yellow and a small 6" roller. Beware those little rollers a lot of lint Took 2 coats and could use a third...

Holy **** that's a heck of a difference!!!! Nice job.

I have to ask, why no insulation? You don't work out there in the winter?

Keen eye kevin..
Insulating As I go. walls to the left are exterior and no final covering installed yet. Ran out of time-$ at time of photo but insulating R31 and looking to install rough cut barn board as final covering for this space. Wall to the right is adjacent interior space and may get r-13 just to keep the individual rooms easier to temper if need arises

That looks fantastic!
I was also wondering about the floors, did you do something to them or are they wet in the after photos?

You sure got a lot accomplished in 1 weekend!

Sweet!
Tell us a little more about those cabinets. Vintage, or available new?

Flooring was a typical joe pick up at a swap meet in philly back in the winter I did not purchase any parts but a guy had pails of F&H commercial epoxy coating (40 gallons) he had for over 3 years. He could not guarrantee it was going to still be good and I gave him enough money to cover lunch as we loaded it on the turck. Two part mix with first coat as a primer and then the top coat which here I added the flakes from Behr. The gloss is the finished product and looks great. Look on the garage gallery under sanford barn for the set back..As a side note Finneran and Haley sold out and the product is not available under same name too bad it is very nice and for what I paid whoha.

Cabinets are also salvage material out of a large office building in town that was flooded. I got 10 of them for $100. all in great shape and some even had keys. A quick hit with the pressure washer and some rustoleum paint and I have nice storage on the cheap. Butcher blocks for the counters came from same auction as cabinets and picked up 12 30" wide 5' long 2" thick for $125 they are not new but a little sanding and poly and no on e knows. there were over 100 slabs up for auction but also one of the things most people raised their hands for.

My wife refers to all things barn realated as Sanford as I am just Like Fred. She is starting to see the fruits of all my " hey honey look at thing at the side of the road pull over" as she ducks under the dash to not be seen. I have limited my collecting to just under hoarding stages but many still don't get it. Hence the love of GJ!

Now that the "toys" are in their rightful clean area I have room to start the dirty work on the next project. E-tek has be eager to start cutting but this one still has at least one more season of run time before it goes under the knife!

I thought I was doing good to get 7 five gallon buckets of wheel weights sorted and smelted over the holiday. Doesn't really hold a candle to what you did.
