PVC conduit connection to panel - clamps required?

I have MHF running in PVC conduit under the ground and up to the subpanel in my detached garage. I have not made the final connection to the sub panel.

Do I need to have a clamp to secure the MHF as it enters the sub panel? Based on my research online, I don't think a clamp is required, but want to make sure.

I have a threaded PVC connector that fits the 2" punch out in the bottom of the box, but it does not have any type of clamp or retainer for the wire. The MHF will run straight down from the panel (in conduit) to an LB, and then through the wall (in conduit) to another LB, and then through conduit down into the ground.

No clamp needed.

But i would do a small loop to relieve any downward pulling stress on the breaker.

Conduit comes into the panel on the bottom, and I was considering leaving the sub-panel in its normal orientation (main breaker at the top), and feeding the conductors up the far left/right inside of the sub-panel and back down into the connectors on the bus. I will only have about six circuits in a 24 breaker panel, so I don't think space will be an issue.

Does this make any sense, or am getting too OCD about having the panel right side up? For me, it just makes more sense to have the panel in the standard orientation, since I have enough wire to run the power up to connectors on top.

The PVC terminal adapter does require a bushing if the conductors are 4 AWG & larger.

Since this is a PVC adapter, what type of bushing is required for 4 AWG and larger cable?

The bushing is not expensive, but I don't see how it really provides any additional protection from abrasion for the MHF wires entering the panel.

The inside edge of the threaded end is rather sharp. The bushing you linked is correct.

Agree. Dont think it is OCD. Once the wires are run and covers on, you wont see how its wired-
