PVC lock nut gasket/o-ring?

I have a PVC enclosure box and drilling my own KOs,
using these as fittings

at a glance I did not see they sell the O-ring or washer for a weather seal. Do they have one? Is it necessary?

The weather seal is supposed to be on the NPT threads. That fitting isn't a bulkhead.

I was advised to drill a hole and use that and a lock nut into the box, rather than fabricate / glue slip or NPT female onto the box.

From what I know - race cars LOL - o-ring type fittings are usually NPS thread. If you go to plumbing you might find a nice flat rubber washer that would work. The high zoot -12AN valve cover fitting for my race vaccum pump system will use a flat washer under the lock nut - $3 box of two from Lowes plumbing department.

Use gravity in your favor whenever possible.
Make bottom entries into enclosure when possible, side entries next preferred and low on the sides.
Top entries when unavoidable.

You could use sealing locknuts on the top entries if you really expect a lot of water from that direction otherwise std locknuts good enough.

Small weep hole on bottom of enclosure is another possibility.

This is a good answer. If there is nothing inside the box that will mind a tiny bit of moisture then I'd put the conduit in the top, drill the weep hole and not worry a bit.

If the box is outdoors and subject to rain, then I would only use the fitting you posted to if you can come in from the bottom. In that case you wouldn't use any rubber washers. If outdoors and you had to come in from a side or top, then I would not use that fitting. I would instead use the glue in type box connectors. I believe the glue in fittings glue to the box and then to a coupler, then to your conduit. Then you would have no threaded fittings to leak.
If the box is indoors, then come in from any side with the fitting you have. That's just what I would do, YMMV.

thanks all, I just used these fittings with a metal lock ring and went together without any gasket.

the box itself is not in a wet area or need to be water tight, I will drill a weep hole on the bottom of the box, just incase the conduit let some water in from other places.
