PVC Loop storage brackets for fishing poles etc.

This is an easy project you can knock out in an afternoon and have some cool cheap storage for fishing poles and other long stock.

I had a left over length of PVC pipe from building my ground level deck. I ran the PVC under the deck to re-rout the drainage from my down spout.

Simply make your self a template with some card board. I found the thin stuff they make boxes out of which contain Chinese car parts work best. So, I went down the block to talk to the fella that owns a fiberglass and billet 32 Ford...

I traced out the shape I was after for a set of brackets to hold my fishing pole.

I then had a beer

Next I transfered the template to the PVC pipe holding the template on with one hand and tracing with the other

I was not quite where I needed to be at this point in the project so I repeated step 3

Emboldened I got out my super clearance jig saw that I picked up for $5.00!

I also got out the cord I use to power the thing which Radio Shack charged me roughly $30.00 for...

I drilled out some starter holes..

Then proceeded to cut out most of the first bracket. This is were my super clearance jig died...

I finished the first and second brackets with a hand held hack saw with one of those little handles on it. You can see the cut out bracket in this photo. The hack saw is on my bench in the back ground.

Drilled the mounting holes

Primered them

Painted them "aluminum" and mounted with sheet rock screws

Insert fishing pole

Feeling self satisfied, I repeated step 3.

Looks like you used a quality product in step 3 there - looks like an IPA or an American Pale Ale a la Sierra Nevada?

You get much better results when you use a quality product like that. Of course, just be careful you don't use too much of a good thing...

My buddy is really into fishing... has a ton of poles, but just lays them out in the garage... looks blah.

I really don't think you can separate these processes. They are both integral to this type of highly evolved design creation and implementation. I would simply use a blended estimate of total time involved and say a day and 15 minutes total time without distinguishing the discreet elements of this artistic endeavor....
