PVC Paint. How impoortant?

I'm putting on some PVC trim for an outdoor shed. In searching for paint I've heard everything from specialized paints that are designed to etch the material for adhesion to "Any acrylic latex exterior paint will work". The color will be a darker brown so I understand the UV number is a factor. I don't want to find out the hard way I picked the wrong paint. Suggestion?

Is the PVC paintable? Some is, some is not.

The Azek trim I put on my house is paintable, and normal exterior latex primer and paint worked fine.

PVC expands and contracts quite a bit with temperature changes. Darker colors makes it worse.

Make sure you properly glue all joints during installation.

Use something similar to sw duration line and it will be fine.
