PVC reducer bushing - how is it installed?

Hi all,

I have some 3/4" PVC conduit (already installed) that I need to reduce to 1/2" for a ground bridge connection.

I think the correct way to do this is to use a 3/4 to 1/2 reducer bushing.

I think the reducer bushing is fit/glued onto the end of the 1/2" conduit, making the end 3/4". Next, fit/glue the new 3/4" end into a 3/4" coupler and attach the 3/4" conduit to the other side of the coupler.

Have I got this right? I'm surprised that I couldn't find this info from a google search!

It seems like it would be easier to just manufacture and use "reducing couplers" but I don't see that these are manufactured!

Yep, that's exactly it. Though you could glue the bushing into the coupler first to make it into a reducing coupler if that makes the process easier.
