Cleaned up my garage and decided for quick and easy way to freshen it up, coated with two coats of Rocksolid polycuramine. Looks very nice at the moment.

But as I do weight lifting there, besides working on car and things, and despite effort to prep I suspect some soaked in oil stains will cause some areas to eventually peel, I decided to pay money and cover it with PVC tiles (currently have some 7mm hidden joint ones in a shopping cart). Unfortunately I have decided this after I already done the rocksolid.

If any water gets in between tiles and coat, I am afraid it would stay and breed something unpleasant. PVC with stated venting capability from NOrsk - I don't like much because too much texture and open mushroom joints.

Will putting some landscape cloth under tiles allow moisture to slowly dissipate to the edges (that will not be fully sealed). Overall I do not have much moisture problem, but during the rain season, some is there, I would guess. Though no obvious signs on concrete surface...

Get something like RaceDeck FreeFlow or Swisstrax Ribtrax that are open faced, and you won't ever have to worry about it.

Each of those brand also have solid tiles that have the same channels for liquid to follow to the lowest point, serving the same purpose.

The coating you put down is a concrete sealer. As long as it stays intact, you will not experience moisture under the mat unless you introduce water yourself from cleaning or some other method.

I just ordered the Norsk flooring my self. Should be here Friday. I too was looking at the solid pvc. I also called the folks at Norsk with any concerns I had and finally I was satisfied that this was the right tile for my application.

Good choice! Norsk is perfect for this application.
