PVC valve leaking

The shut off valve to the kitchen faucet is leaking ever so slightly.....it looks like the stem packing needs snugged up.
Do I dare try and tighten the nut?

I thought you were talking about a PCV valve as on a car. Those leak vacuum all the time to work.

Not sure if it is PVC or CPVC but it is on a CPVC system.
Guess I will get some help and give a careful go.

Milton,I had to look at the heading a few times to make sure I did not put PCV:lol:
